About TFtD
So, what is this thing called Tales From the Duh? Here's where to find out.
? So where did you come up with this stuff?
Well, it all started on the Sci Fi Channel's "Dominion" Bboard, or more specifically, the Mystery Science Theater 3000 board on The Dominion. Over time, the board became affectionately known as the Duh among the MSTies (fans of MST3K) there. Despite some flamewars started by instigators, the Duh board has spawned a fairly good and friendly community of people who enjoy laughing and talking about a certain cow-town puppet show. People ask questions about the show, post games about the episodes that air each week, and any of a number of off-topic posts. There have also been a few free-form RPGs that have been run on the Duh. One of them forms the inspiration for this comic.

? Does the comic follow the RP word-for-word?
No. Initially, I'll be making episodes which explain some of the conventions and running jokes of the Duh RP. Once I've established a bit of backstory, I'll start following the RP storyline more closely, though some small details will be changed for the sake of smoother storytelling and ease of comic-making (and removal of potentially troublesome copyright infringements. =)).

? What exactly is this MST3K thing you guys keep mentioning? What are "MSTed movies"?
Mystery Science Theater 3000 was an amusing show that showed (and still does, though there are no new episodes) on the Sci Fi Channel, and prior to that on Comedy Central. The premise was that a man and two robots were held captive on a satelite and forced to watch horrible B-movies. The only way they could cope was to make smartass comments during the films (this activity is also known as "riffing"). Movies which have been featured on MST3K are also known as MSTed movies. ? So, do all of the charaters in the comic represent real people on the Duh board?
Not all of them. All of the "player characters" in the comic are people who visit the Duh board, but the NPCs are all accessory characters we have made up for the RP. Except, that is, for the NPCs we made up to represent actual users we don't want involved in this project (instigators and trolls). In those cases, the names have been changed to exclude the guilty. =)

? Do you like red text on black background, or what?
Yes.
